About us
Our mission is to empower companies to build the infrastructure of tomorrow. Together we can create flexible, fast, and scalable tools to turn your data into business insights.
Yingying Fu
Co-Founder
Prior to launching Adaptive, Ying led the design and implementation of Swiss Re's IFRS 17 model, aiding the transition from US GAAP to the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).
Utilizing Apache Spark and her knowledge in finance and accounting, she led the team to create the model from ground up, following agile principles. The model deals with complex actuarial valuation logic and terabytes of data. It serves the company as a basis for its regulatory reporting and provides management insights that drive business decision making & portfolio management.
Before that, Ying developed numerous Python applications, among others the International Capital Standard Field Test for the reporting team and calculation of replicating portfolios for treasury and actuarial teams.
Dejan Simic
Co-Founder
Before establishing Adaptive, Dejan was Head of FP&A Data Integration at Swiss Re, leading the data engineering activities in the Reinsurer's finance department. He built up a team and unified dozens of data sources with terabytes of data into a single ontology on Palantir's Foundry platform. The data asset has been integrated with group underwriting's ontology following data mesh architecture principles. It provides near-time KPIs to allow timely performance monitoring of the company's business.
His previous projects included the development of a new financial consolidation tool which cut the runtime from 120 hours to less than 10 minutes, setting up a business intelligence platform for more than 1'000 users and launching the development of the companies' IFRS 17 model.
Dejan is passionate about data engineering and technology. This, combined with his background in quantitative economics & finance, helps him efficiently write software that solves financial & actuarial problems.
